    Default Lye soap

My daughter used to make lye soap. I loved it! I used it for shampoo as well as the bath. Hog fat makes the best. There was a dude in the Berryville area that used to make great lye soap as well....Keith somebodyoranother. It was well worth the price! If I can find a large iron kettle, I might go back to making soap.

If you do, I'll sure buy some from you. There was a lady at the Eureka Farmer's Market that sold some some last year, but her prices were way too high for me.

From what that site says, Westwood, one can purchase lye in 2 lb. quantities from any Loews. It's worth a check.
Good info. on that site, too. I'm interested in the candle making part.
