I've only seen one of our three hummingbirds over the past several days. Last year they all left our feeders on Oct. 9.

The feathered birds remain scarce at the feeders, and the cat is eating like there's no tomorrow - really packin' it on. All of this does seem to be about a month early.

Not only the hummers all of the seed eating birds have left. The only ones we have are the year round woodpeckers and nuthatches.

There is only one male still here. He was running the rest off and they left. Wonder if he is the "rear guard" making sure all the rest were on their way.

This would be the earliest I’ve seen the last one, unless I see one more never say never.
